The Port of Namp'o is not a popular tourist destination, but it is located near the country's capital city, P'yongyang. The temperatures range from an average high of 28 °C (83 °F) in August to an average low of -10 °C (14 °F) in January.
The P'yongyang Metro is the world's deepest metro system. Over 110 meters deep, the platforms and stations are adorned with large socialist realist murals.
Visitors to P'yongyang will probably need to take guided tours of local sights, as it is rare to get permission to wander the city unless you are a personal visitor to a P'yongyang resident.
Visitors to the Port of Namp'o and P'yongyang should be careful in choosing photographic subjects. Palaces and monuments are acceptable, but most Koreans do not like having their pictures taken, particularly without permission. Non-tourist sites are bad choices for photos.
