Puerto de Tuxpan
Cruising and Travel

The Puerto de Tuxpan is a beautiful and peaceful place. Not a popular tourist destination, it offers wonderful secluded beaches, a serene river, and a gorgeous landscape. Being the departure point for Fidel Castro and company to begin the Cuban Revolution, the Puerto de Tuxpan remembers the events at the México-Cuba Friendship Museum. The downtown Archaeological Museum contains over 250 artifacts of the ancient Huasteca culture. The Puerto de Tuxpan also has several wonderful festivals throughout the year, and it offers some great local cuisine: escabeches, huatapes, enchipotlados, and the traditional Zacahuil.
