Port of Veraval
Cruising and Travel

The Port of Veraval is not a well-known tourist destination. The most popular place to visit is the fishing port where boat builders make the traditional dhows on the beach without modern tools.

The Nawabi palace faces the sea, and the beach near the palace offers a jogging path and benches for leisurely strolls or runs by the sea.

The most famous adventure available near Veraval is Sasan, the headquarters of the Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. This 1412 square kilometer nature reserve is one of the most important in India. It contains many lakes, seven rivers, deciduous forests, thorn scrub forests, grasslands, and semi-evergreen flora. While off-road drives are possible, there are restrictions on using your own vehicle. Gir is the only place in the world where you can still see the Asiatic Lion. You can also see panthers, the sambhar, spotted deer, and abundant birdlife. The Kamleshware Dam hides many birds and several crocodiles.
