The Port of Mundra is not one of India’s most popular tourist destinations. Medical and transportation services are limited but improving. Most of the population earns its living through agriculture, horticulture, fishing, and wage labor.

The town’s showpiece is the Port of Mundra, which has transformed the local economy and atmosphere. Luckily, the Port of Mundra was the only place in Kutch that was not seriously damaged in the 2001 Gujarat earthquake that devastated much of the district.
