While the Ports of Tees and Hartlepool are located in an industrial area with limited history, visitors can visit Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience. This is a combination of the historic quay, the HMS Trincomalee, and the Museum of Hartlepool. The Experience takes visitors back in time to an 18th Century seaport and tells the story of sea life in the time of Admiral Nelson, Napoleon, and the Battle of Trafalgar. Staff dresses for the period, and visitors enjoy gun firing, cannon firing, and sword fighting displays.
