Cromarty Firth is a place of great natural beauty, and the town of Invergordon offers many accommodations and dining opportunities for visitors. The Arts Centre in the old Town Hall building displays the work of local artists and hosts theater performances throughout the year. The Leisure and Sports Center offers a heated swimming pool, squash courts, fitness equipment, and a large games hall.
At the west end of town is an 18-hold golf course with breathtaking views of the Firth and mountains to the west. The Naval Museum and Heritage Centre was opened in 2004, and it contains an interesting collection of local artifacts and an historic archive and library. Natal Garden was created in 2001 to reflect the general nautical theme of the Cromarty Firth.
Visitors will enjoy walking from the Admiralty Pier area along Shore Road to see the Natal Garden, the CFPA building, and the Queen’s Dock where oil rigs are maintained. Cromarty Firth is home to a wide range of wild birds and marine life (including bottle-nosed dolphin).
