The Petroleum Dock Port is not a tourist destination. It is a working port. However, it lies at the head of the Gulf of Suez with easy access to the wonderful Red Sea. The Red Sea is 1.9 thousand kilometers long and covers an area of 270 thousand square kilometers. It is bordered by Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, and Djibouti.

The Red Sea climate is warm throughout the year, with water temperatures from 18 °C (64 °F) to 21 °C (70 °F) during the winter and from 21 °C (70 °F) to 26 °C (79 °F) during the summer. The land temperatures range from 35 °C (95 °F) to 41 °C (106 °F).
