Cruising and Travel

Visitors to the City of Chittagong will find many interesting and beautiful sights. Located near the Khulshi residential area, Foy’s Lake is surrounded by beautiful hills where visitors can enjoy wondrous sunsets at one of the restaurants.

The War Cemetery holds the graves of 755 Allied soldiers from Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Africa who died during World War II. The Zia Museum contains the household goods of Bangladesh General Ziaur Rahman, who was assassinated in this house in 1981. The Pakistani army used the house as a detention center for torture and murder during Bangladesh’s war of liberation.

Near the city center, D.C. Hill is home to the residence of the Deputy Commissioner. It boasts lovely gardens and is the site of the annual Bengali New Year’s celebration. Batali Hill, the highest within the metropolitan area, offers panoramic views of the city and the Bay of Bengal. The Patenga Sea Beach, lying where the Karnaphuli River meets the Bay of Bengal, is a popular spot for long romantic walks and viewing the sunset over the Bay.
