The thousand-year-old City of Krems is located in northeast Austria about 80 kilometers west of Vienna. Krems is a beautiful town full of courtyards, ancient churches, and antique houses resting in the heart of Austria's vineyard country.
One of the Port of Krem's main attractions is the Weinstadt Museum Krems, housed in an old Gothic Dominican monastery built in the 13th and 14th Centuries. The museum contains the paintings of Martin Johann Schmidt and a copy of the country's oldest work of art, the 32,000-year-old statuette. Beneath the abbey are cellar tunnels that reveal the life of the medieval monks that lived there. The complex also includes a Wine Museum containing artifacts from Danube area vineyards.
