As the biggest town on the east coast of the Sharjah Emirate, the Port of Khor Fakkan is about half way between Fujairah and Dibba Al Hisn. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and the bay, the Port of Khor Fakkan is a popular tourist destination where divers and snorkelers enjoy exploring the coral outcrops.
The Port of Khor Fakkan has a wonderful climate from November through April with warm sunny days and dry cool nights. During the season, temperatures during the day range from 18°C (64°F) to 30°C (86°F). Between January and March, rain and tropical storms are common. From May through September the climate warms, and temperatures reach a high of 45°C (113°F) at noon in July and August. During the warm season, night are humid with temperatures that reach 25°C (77°F).
The Port of Khor Fakkan has a four-star hotel, the Oceanic Hotel & Resort. The Oceanic is on the northeastern shores of the bay, opposite from the Port of Khor Fakkan container terminal. With gardens and a long white-sand beach, the hotel offers a range of water sports and other recreation opportunities. Guests at the hotel can take a three-hour tour of the UAE's East Coast. The tour visits Dibba, Masafi, and Fujairah before it returns to the Port of Khor Fakkan.
