The City of Cape May is the port authority for Cape May Harbor. It is the East Coast's second busiest port for off-loading seafood. Fisherman's Wharf in Cape May Harbor receives about 11 million pounds of seafood every year. Cape May Harbor distributes its catches across the world, including some 1.5 million pounds of sea scallops, 600 thousand pounds of flounder, 120 thousand pounds of lobster, and huge amounts of at least 18 other seafood species.
Located at the east end of the canal at Cape May Harbor, Utsch's Marina is a full-service facility offering seasonal and overnight dockage. Utsch's Marina has factory-trained mechanics on site that can maintain vessels and prepare them for winter storage. Transient vessels can moor at floating docks where dockside water, electric, and cable TV are available. The Snug Harbor Marina in Cape May Harbor has a well-maintained channel with access to the Intracoastal Waterway just 182 meters (600 feet) from the marina. In addition to dockage, with certifications for Honda and Evinrude, the service department can haul and launch vessels with its 15-ton forklift or 30-ton travel lift. A breakwall extends from the point, providing for a weather-resistant and protected marina. Services and amenities at this Cape May Harbor marina include boat slips to 9.8 meters (32 feet), wet and dry winter storage up to 15.2 meters (50 feet), pump-out services, four lighted fish cleaning stations, and a modern fuel dock, a ships' store, and a new bathhouse with showers.
South Jersey Marina is the closest marina to the historic and commercial areas of Cape May Harbor. Offering deep-water access, the marina can accommodate sail and power vessels to 42.7 meters (140 feet). The high-profile floating docks are complemented with a picnic area, and the marina makes bait, tackle and ice available. There is an on-premises restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and gas and diesel fuel are available. In-slip amenities include high-speed fueling, electric service, dockside water, free cable TV, and waste removal. Cape May Harbor's South Jersey Marina offers concierge services that include a daily newspaper and fresh fruit, boat washing services, rental cars, and telephone, fax, and mail service.
The Canyon Club Resort Marina in Cape May Harbor is a state-of-the-art facility for boaters, yachters, and big game fishers. The marina offers concrete floating docks with electric, water, and cable TV connections. In addition to the 30.5-meter (100-foot fuel dock, in-slip fueling is available on most piers. The marina has bathrooms, showers, a swimming pool, and a ships' store. This Cape May Harbor marina has seasonal slips from 7.6 to 21.3 meters (25 to 70 feet). The marina's service department can handle repairs and re-powers, onboard systems repairs, fiberglass repairs, parts, running gear repair, and aluminum and canvas work. The service department has two 30-ton travel lifts available.
