The Town of Freeport is the port authority in Freeport Harbor. The Freeport Harbor Master enforces state and local regulations governing the use of the harbor, watercraft in Freeport Harbor, and the waterfront. Freeport Harbor's Brewer South Freeport Marine's mechanical team can replace, repair, or refit engines, plumbing and electrical systems, and all serviceable boat parts and system. Brewer's finish department paints, restores fiberglass, and makes major fiberglass repairs. The staff can repair or install electrical and communications systems and do re-wiring on all types and sizes of yachts.

Brewer South Freeport Marine has a carpentry shop in Freeport Harbor that works on a variety of projects from simple details to custom built-in features. The rig shop handles tools for swaging and splicing and can handle mast, boom, and deck alterations.

Freeport Harbor's Strouts Point Wharf Company looks like an old-fashioned traditional Maine boatyard, but it is fully modern with a well-equipped yard. It boasts the first year-round dock system in the State of Maine. Designed for easy use and for durability, the dock system only closes in winter when Freeport Harbor freezes.

Strouts Point Wharf Company in Freeport Harbor also has a mechanical shop, a building for repairs, and a dock store. Its heated storage building can accommodate ten 15.2-meter (50-foot) boats for winter service. The state-of-the-art Hull Repair Shop in this Freeport Harbor boatyard is used for woodworking and fiberglass. A new climate-controlled storage building is also used for paint and varnish work.

A diver is available by appointment for underwater boat inspections. Their shop carries a wide range of boating supplies.
