The County of Orange owns and operates the facilities at Dana Point Harbor. Vessels enter Dana Point Harbor from the east between two jetties marked by lights. A fog horn and radio beacon are located on the south jetty. In partnership with city businesses and Orange County, Dana Point Harbor offers a free Bilge Pad Exchange Program designed to preserve and enhance the local marine environment.
Facilities in Dana Point Harbor include the full-service Dana Point Fuel Dock. The Dana Point Shipyard offers complete boat repair services and a marine hardware store. The Embarcadero Marina offers launch ramps, boat rentals, sailing lessons, overnight parking for trailers, and dry storage. Dana Point Marina Company and Dana West Marine offers slips only five minutes from the open ocean. The OC Sailing and Event Center provides recreational boating courses and sailing lessons.
Fishing is a popular activity in Dana Point Harbor, and fishers have many options from on-shore casting to fishing boats that ply the open sea. Called by some Orange County's Gateway to Kayak Fishing, Dana Point Harbor offers protected waters and launch locations..
