While the Port of Corinto is not well-known, most of the country’s fuel supply comes through the Port of Corinto, and it is the gateway for most of Nicaragua’s agricultural products. The port contains several big storage silos that hold products like oil, methanol, alcohol, and sugar cane derivatives. Several cruise ships call at the Port of Corinto every month.
The Port of Corinto has some great restaurants and a beautiful beachfront lined with thatch-roofed restaurants and bars and huge palm trees. Called the Costa Azul (Blue Coast), several small uninhabited islands are within each reach thanks to fishermen who carry visitors for a small fee. On the islands are wonderful beaches, tropical forests, and some of the world’s most beautiful sunsets.
