The Societe D'Exploitation des Ports (SODEP), also known as Marsa Maroc, is the port authority responsible for managing and operating the Port of Safi. In 2007, the Port of Safi handled about 1.5 million tons of cargo.

The commercial quay at the Port of Safi is 448 meters long with alongside depths from 8.5 to 9.5 meters. The terminal has 14.4 thousand square meters of storage area and three warehouses that cover 6.7 thousand square meters. The commercial quay handles solid bulk (zinc, coke, clinker, and baryta. The quay also handles general cargoes and vehicles.

The Rivets Quay is 386 meters long with alongside depths from 10.5 to 12 meters, and it covers 21 thousand square meters. The quay handled 1.5 million tons of sulfur in 2007.

The North Quay is 184 meters long with alongside depths from 9.5 to 11 meters. Handling phosphoric acid and caustic soda, the quay covers 4.8 thousand square meters.

The Port of Safi is linked by road to Casablanca to the north and Agadir to the south. Rail connections link the Port of Safi to Marrakech and Casablanca.
