The Wakayama Port Authority is the Port Development Bureau, Ministry of Port and Airport Development of the Wakayama Prefecture, which plans and develops the coastal fishing port. The port management team is responsible for managing harbor and port facilities, managing coast and coastal properties.

The Port Development and Operations Division, Port Development Office, is responsible for implementing the Fisheries Infrastructure Project Plan, planning coastal fishing business matters in the Port of Wakayama, and implementing business disaster recovery measures.

The Wakayama Export Promotion Council for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Processed Food Products supports the marketing of locally-grown and produced products that are exported through the Port of Wakayama to the worldwide market.
