The Port of Burntisland is owned and operated by Forth Ports Ltd. which also operates regionally-based ports in Dundee, Tilbury, and five other Firth of Forth cities. Forth Ports provides cargo-handling and logistics services for port customers.

The Port of Burntisland, located between Kirkcaldy and North Queensferry on the Firth of Forth, handles and stores liquid cargo (caustic soda). On the West Dock, Consafe constructs modules for North Sea oil rigs, and the port provides barges that move the modules to sea.
