Port Gentil is governed by Gabon’s Ministry of the Merchant Marine. The Office des Ports et Rades du Gabon (OPRAG) was created in 1974 as a national public institution to operate Port Gentil.
Port Gentil includes a main quay of 241 meters and a river quay of 150 meters. It contains sheds covering 4.1 thousand square meters and warehouse space of 6.3 thousand square meters. Since 1986, the Oil Terminal of Port Gentil has three quays serving petroleum vessels.
