The Port of Vienna consists of several major areas: Port of Freudenau, Port of Albern, Port of Lobau, the Viennamarina, and DDSG Port Vienna. The Port of Vienna covers a total area of 350 hectares and contains five thousand meters of quays. It offers ample storage for cargoes, including 70 thousand square meters of roofed storage, 36 thousand square meters of raw material storage, 200 thousand square meters of open depot, a 10 thousand square meter car terminal, and a container terminal with capacity for five thousand TEUs.
Each year, the Port of Vienna handles 12 million tons of cargo on 1650 ships. The car terminal handles 72 thousand vehicles, and the 60 thousand square meter container terminal handles 323 thousand TEUs of containerized cargo. The Port of Vienna is a favorite tourist destination as well, and it welcomes over four thousand passenger ships carrying a total of over 300 thousand passengers per year.
The car terminal at the Port of Vienna covers 160 thousand square meters with room for 10 thousand vehicles, with covered storage for 2,600 vehicles. With direct connections to highways and international rail networks, the car terminal guarantees quick delivery and dispatch of all vehicles. Further, it offers a car wash, two garages, halls for vehicle cleaning and installation of accessories, a gas station, and rail tracks for 55-car transport wagons.
The Port of Freudenau houses the Port of Vienna's management and administrative offices and the terminals for cars and containers. It handles bulk and general cargoes like agricultural products, metals, building materials, vehicles, and containers.
The Port of Albert contains the terminal for building materials and shipment and storage of grains. It also handles bulk and general cargoes like agricultural products, metals, building materials, vehicles, and containers. The Port of Lobau is dedicated to handling and storing mineral products. The Viennamarina is the site of the marina for recreational boats, the boat master school, and several restaurants.
