Port of Bridgeport

The Port of Bridgeport is managed and regulated by the Bridgeport Port Authority, which was formed in 1993. The authority's main mission is the promotion of commerce and of trade and the development and promotion of the main facilities within the port.

Up to 4 million tons of goods are flowing into the Port of Bridgeport annually. This makes the port the No. 2 most active in Connecticut. Basic commodities and goods moved include clementines, coal, bananas, gravel, sand, gasoline, oil and stone. The port's Federal Trade Zone is very much in place, helping facilitate trade and boost global competitiveness of the businesses that operate within the port facilities.
